Arts & Humanities important or not?    Updated May 2013      At some point we all come to a stage in our lives when we want to understand ourselves and the humanity within us at a deeper level. One way to do this is by learning more about the arts and the humanities. Ask any performer  (a performer is someone recognized for producing above average results) what has been a primary contributing factor to their own growth and character development and they will tell you the discipline required to improve at their choice of skill development. Purposeful growth and development cannot occur without an understanding of discipline. The Arts provide an environment of discipline.       They also increase your ability to pick up on things much faster like learning a second language, a new trade, you name it, and your comprehension speed will more than double very quickly.  Among other things entertainment would not be possible without discipline. Good entertainers are so smooth you forget how much discipline went into what they are doing. But, you don't have to become an entertainer, you can learn to sing, write, paint, or play a musical instrument (to name only a few options) just to entertain yourself and grow at the same time. Either way you will reap the same benefits from them.       From childhood fables, to world renowned sculptures, Greek mythology, how to increase personal power, and many things that play a part in our character development as we travel through life, including those things that define what makes us human, are covered here.
